Look! We made a blog!

Hello and welcome to Kaitlin and Chandler’s day to day life. We are glad for this opportunity to open up about our thoughts and experiences. A bit about us as a couple: we have been friends since 2009, we started dating in 2019, and have been happily married since 2020. We have had the best friendship, founded in high school on weird conversations, travelling, and thrift shopping.

You’ll get to hear both of our voices and stories on this platform. We come from different backgrounds and celebrate our individual experiences with a touch of humor and sarcasm. Our differences are not a focal point in our relationship, but it’s pretty apparent when we go out in public… you know, because Chandler is 6’5” (plus his hair) and Kaitlin is barely 5’3” with her shoes on. We also are both Leo’s if that means anything to you (we’re not into it); and as two natural born leaders, we support non-traditional roles in our home: if you’ve got it, take the lead.

As for our interests, we are all about our family, our pets, and our projects. Both of us are “Jacks of All Trades, Masters of None.”  Kaitlin works in supply chain management. Her interests outside of work include personal style, home decor, sewing, woodworking, etc. Chandler is a veteran who is going to school and holding down the fort at home. His interests include cooking, mixology, technology, video games, etc. Together, we are best described as Hobbits; we love making our home cozy and warm, but every so often we are up for a quality adventure.

We are glad to share our thoughts and opinions where they are useful for learning and understanding, but we also want this to feel like a safe space for readers. Because of this, we discussed and established “lifestyle blog ground rules” before getting started. The no-go topics we came up with are: politics and parenting philosophy. Why? Because nothing we say to you will change your opinion, and nothing you say will change ours - AND - because there are more relevant things to advocate for on this blog (healthy relationships, fun projects, sustainability). Our purpose for starting a blog was to connect with people, so we appreciate hearing from you about your experiences and perspectives too!

Without further ado, again we want to wish you welcome to this space, grab a snack, and enjoy the show!
